Dressed Up

We do clean up pretty well around here.  Malachi looked great for his concert this week, which Lydia and I thoroughly enjoyed.

And last week, Emry and his friends enjoyed a middle school dance:
Such handsome young men!

Otter Fun

Last weekend, the boys and I joined my parents and some of their cousins in a zoo trip.  We spent a lot of time at the otters.

Otters have always been one of my favorite animals, and these were so fun and playful.  They loved coming up to see us.

The boys particularly enjoyed "hi-5ing" them.

I also got to see something new.  Otters dance while they poop.   It was really amusing.  My sister and I watched both otters dance poop.  You really can learn something new every day!

Melting

The snow is mostly gone in town, but we still have quite a bit here.  Buddy Bean loves the snow, but he also loves his tunnels, so now is the best of both worlds for him.

There's still snow around the edges of the deck, but the center is melted so he can move his tunnels around!

As you can see, I'm going to have to come up with a way to keep the chickens out of my garden this spring:

Inside, I've started some seedlings.  Mamaw gave me these cute little seed starting pots:

Gyunay helped me plant some seeds:

January Eggs!

We got 387 eggs in January!  By far, that is the most we've ever had in a month.  I've given away several dozen, and various egg dishes have been on the menu.  I've made souffle, deviled eggs, fresh pasta, breakfast burritos, scrambled and fried eggs.  I think I'll have to make brownies, just because my recipe calls for 6 eggs :)
